James K. Gibson, 54, of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at his residence.

Born May 14, 1971 in Salem, Ohio, he was the son of John Keith and Neoma (Palmer) Gibson.

James married Michelle Diane Moore on September 25, 1993 and she survives.

He worked at J&A Buildings along side his son and son-in-law.

James was a faithful Christian from a very young age and an active member of Weisbach Community Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for over 20 years. He had a deep love for God and his family.

He enjoyed camping, riding horses, riding bikes, running, singing, music, and spending time with his family.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Michelle; children, Jaron (Alyssa) Gibson, Joel (Haleigh) Gibson, and Jarilyn (Jordan) Whitaker; Six Grandchildren, Jamin, Liam, Rebecca, Jason, Joel Jr., and Jessie Gibson; parents, John and Neoma Gibson; sister, Karen (Jeff) Tyler; sister-in-law, Stephanie Gibson; and several nephews and a niece.

His brother, Dr. Stephen Gibson, passed away just a few hours after James.

The funeral service was at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Weisbach Community Church, 10303 Weisbach Road, Shoals, Indiana 47581, with Pastor John Zeigler officiating. Burial followed in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 and from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Friday at Weisbach Community Church.

Arrangements were placed in the care of the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care at 431 High Street in Shoals, Indiana.
